QUEST- The capacity for integrated community energy solutions policies to reduce urban greenhouse gas emissions

Our urban modelling technologies were used in the Quality Urban Energy Systems of Tomorrow (QUEST) project (the QUEST project), a national study that quantified the potential reduction in GHGs from integrated land use and transportation policies.

Duncan was the lead urban modeller for the project and his role was to interpret and model the land use and transportation policies of 4 different cities (including the Greater Toronto Area, Winnipeg, Dawson Creek and Fort McMurray) across Canada and create 3 different scenarios for each. These results were used by other team members from MKJA and the University of Toronto to estimate how the implications for energy and GHG emissions from various national level policy choices.
